Hello Party people,
Greetings from Venice! Things look a bit different from the last time I was here. There are a lot of security checkpoints, there’s a Hudson News, there are multiple Delta lounges— Wait, oh, right, I’m not in Venice, as I am supposed to be. I am instead still at John F. Kennedy International Airport, to which my airplane returned early Friday morning after we’d flown east for two hours, because the aircraft’s weather radar broke. This was after our flight was delayed two and a half hours because of thunderstorms. So basically I was at JFK for hours and hours, on the plane for four, and now I’m back at the airport after a restless sleep at a random hotel (and “spa”!!!!) in suburban Long Island. Not the greatest start to this trip, I must say.
Hopefully I will be getting into Venice tomorrow morning, if our captain doesn’t turn to jelly like the guy in Airplane! or something. On that flight I plan to watch more movies, which were meant to be the topic of today’s letter. But fear not! I did have time to watch two whole films last night before we landed back in New York. I’ll share my thoughts on those below. I’m sorry that this letter is a little shorter than normal; blame the weather gods and the radar gods and all the gods, if you want. I’m pretty mad at the whole bunch.
