Hello, and happy Oscars Day! While you wait for all the thrills and upsets of this evening, we here at Premiere Party thought we’d share a little bonus content with you.

Last week, I looked back at the 2006 Oscars ceremony, a frustrating and (not for good reasons) historic night that, well, I just can’t quit. Which is why I made a video about it! Yes, going forward your intrepid party host will be venturing onto YouTube on occasion. I have assembled a crack team of designers and editors whom I found hustling outside the Anaheim Convention Center during VidCon, and we’ve come up with this video version of my already legendary recap. It’s embedded below for your perusal. Please be kind! It’s a first effort.

But it’s not my last effort! In the coming weeks and months, you’ll be seeing more video content from me: essays about trends in films I just can’t stop thinking about, deep dives into awards narratives of the past, and probably eventually a long heartfelt coming out video (just pretend you didn’t know) in which I, for some reason, call out Tati Westbrook. Stay tuned! And thanks, as always, for subscribing to the newsletter. If you want to subscribe to the YouTube channel, too, I’d be forever grateful.

And don’t forget: my annual Oscars recap is coming Monday. If you've been thinking about joining Premiere Party, this weekend is a great time — annual subscriptions are two months free and VIP Lounge is $26 off. This promotion is ending tomorrow, so don’t delay! Would love to have you join the party.
